2010 FallsQuest Results
Both temperature and humidity hovered around 90 as a very game group of adventurers navigated their way around Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Lake. Participants searched for locations and then answered a simple question to prove they were there. (Questions were carefully researched, but the answers were not.) At the whim of the Course Designer, the diabolical Bob Boltz, the 62 locations varied in point value. Bob, who enjoyed the air conditioning in the Hopewell Room of the beautiful Natatorium, was impressed with the geographical distribution of the entrants. Robert Buraczynski of Newark, Delaware traveled the farthest. Alexis Rzewski of Pittsburgh spent much of his time being hosed down by friendly natives and still managed to capture third place in the foot division. Randy Mitchell placed first in the foot division and covered 18.9 miles in four steamy hours. He edged out last year's winner, John Hoffman. Randy's route can be seen at http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3842223
His description: Went roughly clockwise
> 1hr: 5.3 miles, at control 48
> 2 hrs: Control 62
> 3hrs: Control 53 (after a refreshing barefoot river crossing) Staggered in in just under the 4 hour limit.
The team of Steve Hughes and Bruce Lash won top honors in the three hour bicycle division.
Bob was assisted by Roy Heger who also enjoyed the air conditioning as he spent the day recovering from an ultra marathon.
In addition to the two competitive races, a number of families and individuals enjoyed a two hour version consisting of 21 locations around the city center.
